The Chicago fans didn't appreciate the big day Buck had. He emptied the bases with a Grand Slam homerun (his 8th of the season) in the 1st inning, banged out a single in the 6th inning and stroked a one-base hit in the 8th inning. Both teams ended up with 10 on the afternoon. The win was credited to Gobble(9-5) who went the whole way allowing 4 runs. The loss was charged to Woody Williams(10-9). He gave up 2 hits and 2 walks in 1/3 of an inning.
